The Property

Luxury Bed and Breakfast in Cheshire

See more pictures of Barleyford

Barleyford offers bed and breakfast accommodation in Wincle, in the relatively unknown but idyllic countryside of South Cheshire and the foothills of the Peak District National Park. This 110 acre farm with river valley and natural woodland is a haven for wildlife, especially many species of birds, bats and larger mammals. Red deer stags roar near the house during the autumn rut.

The house dates back five hundred and fifty years, and has evolved over time. Gentle modernisation has been carefully carried out so as not to detract from the original structure. A wealth of original timbers, massive intricately-carved beams, great fireplaces, wood panelling and leaded windows add character.

There are three beautifully furnished double rooms (one with a four-poster bed), all with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside.
The four-poster room was built for the ladies of the house in 1630. It has views in three directions and an en-suite shower room. In the summer there is access down steep stone steps to a small private terrace garden.
The beamed bedroom faces east for the morning sun. It has fabulous timbers with two fully studded walls and an intricate ceiling. The private bathroom is a few steps away.
The blue room is warm and pretty, with morning sun, a romantic French bed, and an adjoining shower room.
